About Uss
The Shripatrao Katkar Foundation, formerly known as the Vasundhara Foundation, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering rural communities by addressing socioeconomic challenges and promoting sustainable livelihoods. Since our establishment in 2003, we have worked to bridge the gap between the aspirations of rural populations and the escalating opportunities they deserve. By fostering local businesses, enhancing income potential, and improving the overall quality of life, we unlock the full potential of rural areas, aiming to minimize migration to urban centers in search of better.
What we do

Core Focus Areas
Sustainable Livelihood Generation
We support rural communities in creating sustainable businesses, particularly in the branches of agriculture, such as Dairy; help them set-up Common Service Centres (CSCs), and small-scale enterprises. We provide resources and guidance, which helps the communities boost their productivity, income, and self-reliance
Women Empowerment & SHG Strengthening
We empower rural women through income-generating activities, entrepreneurial skill set, and leadership opportunities. By engaging women to form Self Help Groups and supporting the existing SHGs we help women to actively stand on their own, narrowing the gender gaps, making them potent to contribute to the community’s development.
Government Scheme Implementation
We facilitate the implementation of government schemes related to social security, insurance, and rural development. Our “Yashwant Grameen Leadership Development Program” provides year-long training for fellows hailing from parts of India to help rural communities access the resources they require.
Education & Capacity Building
We offer skill development and training programs to equip rural populations with the knowledge and tools needed to become selfsufficient, furnishing them to manage successful enterprises, leading to long-term economic sustainability
Sports Development
We promote sports to provide a platform complementing the academic balance to inculcate social skills and encourage active lifestyles. Our foundation organizes district and state-level Kabaddi competitions, providing a platform for local talent to raise, developing a healthy sports culture.
Cultural Preservation through the Jagadguru Bhajan Competition
This initiative in the Hingoli District of Maharashtra celebrates and preserves cultural heritage through traditional art forms like Bhajan singing and Kirtan. It engages women, youth, and teenagers in cultural exchange, helping to pass these traditions on to future generations.
Health & Well-being
We work to improve access to basic healthcare and sanitation facilities in rural areas, ensuring that communities have the essential support necessary to sustain a healthy and productive living.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build a robust rural economy by effectively facilitating social security, insurance, and development schemes owned by government and private entities to earn Rs 50,000 per month per family. We aim not only economic development but to promote holistic development by fostering arts, culture, and sports in rural areas, leading to prosperous and thriving rural communities.
Vision
By addressing natural and human-made challenges and providing local opportunities, we aim to create an empowered rural community by fostering enterprises that promote both personal and Collective ownership which in turn will help to reduce migration happening for livelihood and pride
